Low-Power MCUs for Efficient, Scalable IoT Connectivity

Renesas introduces the RA4L1 microcontrollers (MCUs), offering ultra-low power consumption, advanced security, and segment LCD support. Powered by an 80 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor with TrustZone, these MCUs are ideal for IoT applications, including smart locks, water meters, and sensors.

With 168 µA/MHz in active mode and 1.70 µA in standby, the RA4L1 series ensures efficient performance for battery-operated devices. It also supports capacitive touch and comes in compact packages for portable IoT devices.

Key Features:

  • 80 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 with TrustZone for enhanced security
  • Up to 512 KB Flash and 64 KB SRAM
  • Multiple peripherals: LCD, Touch, USB, CAN FD, UART, I2C, SPI
  • Advanced security: AES, ECC, Hash, TRNG
  • Compact size: Packages as small as 3.64 x 4.28 mm

Renesas’ Flexible Software Package (FSP) simplifies development, offering drivers, middleware, and seamless integration with legacy code. The RA4L1 is a robust solution for developers seeking secure, low-power, and feature-rich MCUs for IoT and embedded systems.
