HBK introduces versatile miniature force sensor with digital and analog interfaces

HBM introduces the U93A, a compact and easily mountable miniature force sensor offering both digital and analog interface options. Available as a traditional passive mV/V sensor or with various hardwired amplifier modules, the U93A caters to diverse application needs.

Users can opt for models with 0-10V or 4-20mA analog outputs, or choose the digital version with an IO-Link interface, enabling seamless integration into any PLC system. Equipped with smart sensor features like sensor health monitoring, the IO-Link variant ensures proactive detection of issues, enhancing operational reliability.

The U93A boasts additional options such as Transducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS) and various cable lengths, along with ready-mounted plugs for HBK instruments, facilitating effortless expansion of testing capabilities.

Engineered for durability, the U93A is IP68 rated, corrosion-resistant, and features cables resistant to common operating substances, making it suitable for harsh environments including laboratory tests, vehicle engines, outdoor measurements, and moving machinery.

Compliant with IEC standards for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), shock, and vibration, the U93A remains robust against lateral forces and bending moments despite its compact design. With improved accuracy to HBK class 0.2, enhanced temperature characteristics, lower hysteresis, and reduced linearity error compared to its predecessor, the U93A sets a new benchmark in force sensing technology.
