ChargePoint has launched an innovative AI-driven tool designed to diagnose and repair electric vehicle (EV) charging stations more efficiently.
This groundbreaking software, claimed to be the first of its kind in the EV charging industry, uses artificial intelligence to detect physical faults and boost charger uptime. The tool allows drivers to report malfunctioning charging stations by uploading images through the ChargePoint app. The AI analyzes these photos and relays the findings to ChargePoint’s Network Operations Centre, reducing the need for on-site inspections and speeding up the resolution process.
Rick Wilmer, CEO of ChargePoint, stated, “This technology will allow us to address physical issues that remote monitoring can’t detect, reinforcing our commitment to creating a reliable charging network.”
ChargePoint is also expanding its partnerships to enhance EV charging solutions globally. Recently, the company partnered with Daimler Buses to integrate its telematics and charge management systems into Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses. Additionally, ChargePoint has teamed up with Porsche Cars North America to improve access to over 100,000 chargers across North America for Porsche customers.
